Account Manager - Fare Collection, Scheidt & Bachmann UK Ltd

An exciting opportunity has arisen within our Fare Collection UK Division for an experienced Account Manager to join our successful Sales Team.

Reporting to the Sales Director, this role is responsible for coordinating and driving key accounts by managing and nurturing existing accounts as well as promoting new products and solutions.

The Account Manager is the first point of customer contact. The successful candidate will be regularly expected to exercise discretionary and substantial decision-making authority and will work closely with company’s key stakeholders to support their work.

The Ideal candidate for this role will possess the following skills and attributes:

Essential

  • Building and maintaining client relationships at all levels.
  • Proven experience in Rail Industry (processes, products, market developments etc)
  • Proven ability in promoting products and services focusing on solutions.
  • Experience in successfully growing business and securing large contract sales.
  • Strong team spirit and ‘can-do’ attitude.
  • Exceptional problem solving and negotiation skills.
  • Strong computer skills in all widely used applications.

Desirable

  • Experience in responding to bids/tenders
  • Expert knowledge of the UK public transportation sector.

Personal Qualities

  • Ability to prioritise work, complete multiple tasks and work to tight deadlines.
  • Mental ability to perform analytical work.
  • Ability to make substantial decisions without supervision.
  • Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills with a keen commercial / technical awareness.
  • Must be self-motivated, creative and have the ability to work closely in a team environment with other departments and individuals.
  • Extensive travel required – may be required to travel domestically and internationally and work off hours, in-line with customer requirements.
  • Positive attitude with the ability to embrace change.
  • Strong eye for detail & identifying opportunities.
  • A natural problem solver who can think outside the box.
