S&B Wear it Pink Charity Day

Following tradition for S&B UK and Ireland, we want to show our continued support for the charity sector. Charities help in lots of different ways, but the main ways are by providing direct help, giving information, or raising awareness of an issue. So we will be supporting “Wear it Pink”, the Breast Cancer charity for 2022. We have supported this charity for the past few years and this year is no exception.

It's also time for our employees to have some fun with a number of fundraising competitions ranging from 4 sessions of online bingo, dress the best, deck-a-desk, speedy sudoku, brain teasers, win it pink sweepstake, guess it pink sweepstake and of course a raffle with 27 prizes to win! All these are active now and will be running up to Friday 21st October which is the official Wear it Pink day. If any of our suppliers or colleagues would also like to support our charity, please get in touch with us via your usual company contact.

Well another year and another load of money raised for Wear It Pink Day 2022.
With 2 last minute additions we raised £1450 overall in the end.

Our success is based on our team - their commitment to our customers is second to none. With a training record document that is more like a roll of honour – IOSH, NEBOSH, ITIL, Prince 2, CISCO, Oracle DBA, and the list goes on – our people are the finest in the industry.
We have removed some of the obstacles that sat in the way of our success. We know our customers are busy and are not always blessed with ample time to get things done to the supplier’s timescale. No longer is it 30 days’ notice for a tariff change, more like 30 minutes – and we deliver on that.

/ Spare parts

Spare parts and consumables – same day, next day, you name it – we’ve got it covered from one of our regional bases in Manchester, Derby or our main UK warehouse with over £500k of spare parts to maintain your hardware.

/ Service

We have a wide and diverse customer base and have created service packages specifically for them, combined with our new ways of working.
All service staff are on 5 day out of 7 day contracts, giving us the flexibility to provide support where it is needed at shopping centres and retail parks at weekends.
A 24/7 service is in our DNA. With a software support team at your disposal whenever you need it – just pick up the phone and we are there.
Our system monitoring tools let us tell you about problems and how we have resolved them before they even make it onto your radar.

/ Event

Event management and special weekend support is our bread and butter. If you only need us on site two Saturdays each year, that’s all you have to pay for Christmas is a special time for us, with our shopping centre customers having the option of an on-site presence or a guaranteed 2 hour response at weekends leading up to the big day. If you have 30 devices on site and 5 of those are business critical, select a 4 hour response for them and a 12 hour response for the others to ensure your service support is cost effective.

The Centre Livingston

The original shopping centre was built in the 1970s, in 2008 sees a whole new concept for the now 30-year-old centre, the new addon to give the illusion and overall feel of being outside but yet still being indoors. To achieve this they built a very high glass roof to cover a very widened pathway which felt like a shopping precinct with grey slate like tiles to finish off the effect.

Our Senior Leadership Team

Alan has overall strategic and financial responsibility for the company and its service delivery to clients.
Alan has been involved in the Sales & Business Development for Parking & Access solutions for over 25 years.  Starting as a Sales Manager for PES in the 1990’s responsible for access control systems for car parks, Alan grew into the revenue control sector whereby year on year achieved record sales. He moved to Radford Retail Ltd to join a new division and develop a sales team that saw the company grow to be one of the leaders in the pedestrian access control market within the fitness & leisure sector. 

Alan joined S&B (UK) Ltd in 2001 whilst the company was in it’s infancy. In 2011 he was promoted to Sales Director and with 500+ Car Park system sales to his name he has recently taken the role as our Managing Director. 

With a successful track-record of proven growth and with his 18-years’ experience with S&B Alan has a developed a sound understanding of all aspects of our business.

Jason has overall responsibility for coordinating all aspects of client delivery.
Jason has been involved in Service Delivery for over 30 years. Having trained as an electrical and electronics engineer, he then worked in the automatic vending industry for 25 years. His early years were spent running his own technical business before moving on to a national vending operator where he led the Operational and Technical teams with over 120 staff.

Having gained an MBA from The University of Bradford, Jason joined S&B (UK) in early 2013 and quickly transformed the ‘traditional’ service delivery model to one that was agile and fit for current and future customer needs. The creation of 7 day service packages, 24/7 engineer availability, and modular service offerings have enabled S&B (UK) to exceed the requirements of a broad spectrum of customers.

Richard has overall responsibility for the divisional sales teams across the UK Developing strategy, sales plans & tactics. He has developed new relationships with key accounts and maintained long-term existing relationships.  Richard started with S&B in 2017 after having run his own business for the previous 14 years. He started as a sales Manager and quickly progressed to the position of Sales Director at the start of 2023. He has built extensive knowledge and experience within the Airport, Health care, and Retail sectors and provides a consultative approach to our customers. He has been the backbone of S&B’s success with record system sales at an all-time high in 2022.
