We’re proud to share a major achievement for Scheidt & Bachmann in North America—the full deployment of our FareGo FB|30 fareboxes across the Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) bus fleet.
With over 2,000 CTA buses now equipped with our modern fare collection solution, this project marks a significant step forward in CTA’s system modernization. Spanning from December 2022 to April 2025, the effort included a three-month pilot and a full rollout completed in just one year.
Key Project Milestones:
- Seamless integration with CTA’s existing infrastructure
- On-time delivery of all 2,000+ fareboxes
- Positive feedback from both riders and operators
- Real-time, data-driven insights to support smarter operations
What drove this success? Collaboration.
Since opening our Chicago office in August 2024, our local presence has been critical—enabling faster response times, stronger coordination, and a deeper understanding of CTA’s goals. Together, our teams worked through challenges with transparency and focus.
Lessons Affirmed:
- Local presence drives speed and responsiveness
- Collaboration isn’t optional—it’s essential
- Real-time adaptation leads to better outcomes
A huge thank you to the Chicago Transit Authority for your trust, partnership, and shared commitment to modernizing public transit.
This project isn’t just a milestone—it’s a model. A demonstration of how innovative, scalable, and data-powered fare collection solutions can transform transit systems across North America.
We’re honored to continue supporting CTA and look forward to what’s next.
