Mobility for Everyone – Accessible. Reliable. Connected.

|   Expertise

To me, mobility means far more than just transportation. It’s the key to connecting with communities and all essential parts of life: work, school, family and friends. And, it gives everyone the freedom to shape their own lives – to be independent.

At the start of this year’s European Mobility Week and in light of this year’s “Mobility for Everyone” theme, I would like to share how we can shape mobility in a way that makes it accessible to everyone – regardless of income, place of residence or personal circumstances. At Scheidt & Bachmann Fare Collection Systems, this is precisely the question we deal with every day. Our fare collection solutions ensure that mobility not only works, but does so reliably, intelligently, and in a way that answers the wide variety of customers’ ever-evolving needs.

Options strengthen a transit system

An inclusive mobility system best thrives when it offers a diverse range of transit services and modes. Whether those are traditional public transit, ride-sharing services, on-demand transportation or micro-

mobility, a system’s options should be as wide-ranging as the people who ride. At Scheidt & Bachmann, our solutions enable the seamless linking of these services, creating a network that flexibly adapts to local conditions and individual needs.

Reliability that builds trust

Mobility requires reliability, for the people who use it and for the operators who provide it. With modern platforms, intelligent devices and comprehensive services, we lay the foundation for trustworthy and efficient operations, even under complex conditions. In this way, we enable transit providers to manage their services effectively while offering their passengers a comfortable and stress-free travel experience.

Affordability as a gateway

Mobility should not be a luxury. That is why the European Mobility Week 2025 calls for the removal of economic barriers. Our systems support transit operators in implementing fairer and more flexible ticket models. This includes mobility budgets, solidarity-based pricing and digital discount solutions ultimately making public transit accessible to more people, regardless of their financial situation.

Thinking beyond boundaries

Public transit should not stop at city limits. The future lies in transregional connectivity and the integration of multimodal services across city and jurisdictional borders. Our solutions are designed to functionally link transit systems, from urban centres to rural areas – reaching and connecting people in their everyday lives.
